Riley and Veronica have been growing like weeds over the past few weeks, and their personalities are really starting to emerge.  They are also starting to notice and show affection toward one another, which has made for some great photos.

Last Saturday night they went to their first 1st birthday party for their new friend Rachel, daughter of our friends Cabell and Michelle.  The twins were the hit of the party and we can’t wait until they are old enough for some real play dates.

I spent the week in New Orleans for a work conference, and Candy had her friend Rich down from NYC to help out for a couple of days.  This is our last quiet weekend at home for a few weeks, so we’ve been enjoying that.

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been two months since Riley and Veronica came into our lives.  What’s harder to believe is that just three months ago we had no idea they even existed!  I can hardly remember life before them; it seems like they’ve been ours forever.

They had their two month appointment at the pediatrician on Friday.  They got four shots, but only cried for about a minute afterwards and went right back to sleep.  They’ve both gained plenty of weight — Riley was 11 lbs 4 oz (more than double his birth weight!) and Veronica was 10 lbs 2 oz.  Both are over 22″ long.

Saturday we celebrated their two month birthday with dinner at the Blue Ridge Grill. 

Last night Riley just about slept through the night (12:45am-7:00am).  Pretty soon they’ll be ready for their own cribs in their own room!
