Settling In

We’ve been home for almost half a week — time is really flying by!

On Saturday we made yet another trip to Babies-R-Us, as our first night at home helped illustrate for us all the things we needed that couldn’t wait for Candy’s shower, as well as all the things we needed more of so that we wouldn’t kill ourselves constantly going up and down the stairs.  Candy’s mom arrived on Sunday, and was just glowing as she met and held each of the twins for the first time.  Joe and Ken came over to meet the kids as well on Sunday afternoon.

While I made a quick 24 hour round-trip to NY for Uncle Jack’s funeral, on Monday Candy and her mom took the kids back to Maryland for their two week checkup.  Both have gained weight, and Veronica is now 6 lbs 2 oz, and Riley is 5 lbs 14 oz.  Monday night we celebrated their two week birthday!

15 March - St. Patrick’s Day Party

Our second annual Saint Patrick’s Day party was a rousing success, dampened only by the Hoyas’ loss to Pitt in the Big East Tournament finals.  At least there were no emergency room visits.

 22 February - My 35th Birthday

Well, I’m officially old.  For such a significant milestone, we had a week of festivities.  We had a Star Wars themed party at my parents’ on Sunday, after which Candy and I spent a couple of days in NYC.  We had a nice dinner at Fresco by Scotto and saw Hairspray on Broadway.  On my birthday itself we went to see Vantage Point at the Fox and then met some friends for drinks at Nick’s.  Saturday, we watched the Hoyas continue their home winning streak against Cincinnati, and then explored the National Portrait Gallery before dinner with the Posse at Fogo de Chao.  After dinner we had a few drinks at Chef Geoff’s.  All in all, it was a great time, but at my age, I’m very tired after all that!
