Director's Statement:

As director of the band, I seek to expand the band's repertoire into high-quality concert band literature to complement the band's strong history of popular music and marches. I strive to lead the band in going beyond notes and rhythms, to educate and encourage an understanding of the music that leads to an experience that engages the performers and the audience emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. Under my direction, the band will, with time, play music at a difficulty level equal to that of a good high school group or lesser experienced college group. For any piece of music, the band must strive to play to the best of its ability, and to always work to improve. It is my goal that the band performs two major concerts in a season, in addition to the various pre-scheduled city events and retirement center performances.
